We are thrilled to have just welcomed another new franchisee to our UK network. Jonathan Cox will be taking charge of New Horizons South Coast, including Portsmouth and Southampton areas. Jonathan is now the second franchisee to join the exciting opportunity developing across the country.
Jonathan has spent the last 14 years working at Highbury College in Portsmouth as Director of Finance and Corporate Services. Whilst still working within this role, he will now head up New Horizons South Coast, the investment of which was funded by the college. With a soft launch of the franchise taking place in November 2014 and the full launch in February 2015, Jonathan and his team are already hard at work with the support of everyone at New Horizons head office.
New Horizons is the world’s largest independent IT training company. With a network of over 300 centres in 60 countries, we are Microsoft’s largest training provider, delivering more than 33% of all authorised Microsoft training worldwide.
The college chose to invest in the franchise in order to provide IT training services that they would not have been able to offer without the support of New Horizons. The New Horizons business model is designed to give ambitious entrepreneurs the opportunity to build a profitable business without having to go it completely alone. It’s also perfect for existing businesses to add IT training to their service offerings, further increasing market share and reach whilst benefitting from global supplier partnerships and brand awareness.
For over 30 years, New Horizons has provided more than 30 million students with industry-leading technical training that delivers the most relevant and intuitive computer courses and certifications. With the increased usage of virtual classroom training (Online LIVE) franchisees enjoy a dynamic business model that allows for more consistent student demand for their services as technology continues to change and develop at a phenomenal pace. In short, New Horizons’ training methodologies and business strategies allow franchisees to be minimally, if at all, affected by any future downward fluctuations in the economy.
“Being part of New Horizons means we will have access to their expertise and their blueprint will enable us to get off to a quick start which we wouldn’t have been able to do otherwise – it would have taken us a lot longer and a lot more money. We are also able to take advantage of the brand recognition globally,” explains Jonathan.
“It’s still early days as we’re not quite up and running yet but taking the advice and support of the New Horizons team has been invaluable to us. They never put pressure on us to follow exactly what they say but their advice is extremely useful and helpful. The team are there to lean on for advice and support to make your business as successful as possible,” he adds.
Along with an award-winning training programme and comprehensive support package, new franchisees are offered an exclusive territory in a major city along with training programmes for all employees. In addition, the package includes ongoing training events and annual conferences, a wide variety of online events, self-paced e-learning resources and a wealth of tools that franchisees can use to train their employees.
“We are aiming to get our New Horizons centre up and running quickly. We want to make as big a success of it as we can and generate as much revenue as possible. We also hope that we will be able to open another franchise with New Horizons eventually. We’ve had an extremely positive experience so far and we feel comfortable working with New Horizons. We like the business model, it has great potential and we would like to expand our New Horizons coverage to other areas of the UK and abroad.”
